Diane Keaton refused to strip in the Broadway musical Hair – even though nudity was optional and most actors did it.

This was in 1968, before her film career took off.

Her decision stood out because Hair was famous for its counterculture vibe and nude finale. But Keaton stuck to her principles and still landed a Tony nomination for her performance in Play It Again, Sam soon after.
