Statistics show that more plane crashes occur during landing than during takeoff.

Breakdown of accidents by flight phase:
Landing: About 49% of fatal accidents occur during this phase. It is a critical moment due to reduced speed, proximity to the ground, and potentially difficult weather conditions.
Takeoff and initial climb: About 14% of fatal accidents happen during this phase. It is also risky, especially in case of engine failure or technical issues preventing the aircraft from continuing its ascent.
Cruise: This is the safest phase, accounting for about 8% of accidents, though incidents at this stage are often severe.
So, while takeoff is a critical phase, landing remains the riskiest in terms of accident frequency.
