Shock in Seoul: A Giant Sinkhole Swallows a Motorcyclist

Choc à Séoul : Un immense trou engloutit un motard

Imagine this: a busy street, everything normal, and suddenly - a massive hole opens up, swallowing everything in its path… That's exactly what happened on Monday in Seoul, when a motorcyclist tragically lost his life after the road collapsed beneath him!

The incident took place at 6:30 PM on one of the busiest streets in the South Korean capital.

A car narrowly avoided falling into the pit, but the motorcyclist who followed wasn't so lucky. Despite heroic rescue efforts, he was found buried under 90 cm of debris, still wearing his helmet and motorcycle boots, after 17 hours of desperate searching.

What caused this? Ongoing subway construction, but authorities are leaving no stone unturned… A full investigation will be conducted to determine if the construction played a role in this tragedy.

A rare, horrific accident: fewer than 200 sinkholes of this kind occur each year in South Korea, but this one will leave a lasting impact.
